Seeing as nobody has mentioned it : Aphex Twin contributes a track
on this months Select magazine's "Secret Tracks" free tape.
The track is called Phlid and is not really worth listening to
because of annoying fart noises (I kid you not) throughout;
this is a shame because the rest of it is OK and quite haunting;
I just think that this time he's taking the mickey.
If you can find it, get Locust's new album "Weathered Well" out
on R&S records : some of it is in Reload & AFX style and some
of it purely his own dark ambience. The best bit is the free
12" which has a beat side and a well scary beatless side. I almost
prefer this to the album! I don't know if you only get the free
12" with the vinyl or on all formats.
Thanks to whoever it is that has been reviewing the ever increasing
pile of Pete Namlook CDs appearing in our shops; the Replugged
(live at XS club) sounds good.
Bye for now,
